Policies, Terms, and Conditions

The Galloway House Inn is not a bed and breakfast, it is an inn and we do not serve breakfast.

Standard Check-In Times: By appointment between 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and although we live on the 2nd floor of the main house, we walk our dogs and run errands. Arrivals between 7:00 PM and midnight please call us. In deference to other guests, we don’t allow arrivals after midnight.

Arrival and Departure dates cannot be changed if it is less than 30 days prior to the arrival date on the original reservation.

Early Check-In Times: Unfortunately we don’t know when a guest will check-out, nor the condition they leave the suite, so it’s impossible to predict when the housekeeper will have it ready for an early check-in. Please call us the day prior to your arrival and we will do all we can to accommodate your request.

Housekeeping: We don’t provide daily housekeeping but on request, our housekeeper will re-fresh your apartment for stays of 4 days or longer.

Common Areas: Limited to the front porch and gardens only, there is no interior common area.

Parties & Events: Not allowed unless agreed to in writing 30 days or more prior to arrival.

Smoking / Vaping: Not allowed by local Savannah ordinance anywhere on the property, this includes porches, gardens, and parking areas. Cigarette butts must be completely extinguished and then placed in the trash bins in the lane behind the house.

Persons Not Included on the Original Reservation: Any additional people not included on the original reservation will have to vacate the property immediately.

EPA Guidance: In accordance with the guidelines issued by the EPA thermostats are set to 72 degrees cooling and 68 degrees heating. The use of ceiling fans is unrestricted.

Children: Under 14 are not allowed on the property. Infants under 12 months are allowed. This 125-year-old house is not the safest place for children. Nothing is childproof, there are steep stairs, gas stoves, a 3-story back porch, and 2nd floor and 3rd-floor balconies. If you arrive with children, out of an abundance of caution for the safety of your child, we will not allow you to stay, no exceptions, no excuses, and no refunds.

Payment: A deposit of 50% of your total reservation is collected at the time your reservation is made and the balance is charged the day of check-in. We only accept MasterCard and VISA credit cards. Charges cannot be split over multiple credit cards. The Galloway House reserves the right to cancel any reservation within the first 24 hours after the reservation is made.

Deliveries: We will only accept the delivery of fresh flowers from local florists. We cannot accept deliveries of medical supplies or medication.

Security: Video surveillance cameras monitor and record motion detected in the exterior areas of the property, this includes porches, gardens, and parking areas.

Dog Policy: Dogs are the only animal we allow. Tea-cup to giant, well-behaved dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome. Maximum of two dogs allowed per suite.

Service Dogs: In recent years countless dog owners have begun claiming their pet is a “service animal” because the American’s With Disabilities Act makes it illegal for hotels or inns to charge a cleaning fee. Although, there is an exemption, section 36.104 Definitions, Place of Public Accommodation (1), states “Place of lodging, except for an establishment located within a facility that contains not more than five rooms for rent or hire and that actually is occupied by the proprietor of the establishment as the residence of the proprietor. It’s not legal for hotels and inns to charge a cleaning fee for service animals.” The Galloway House Inn is owner-occupied and has less than 4 guest suites.
ADA Title III Regulations

Dog Fees: $75 pet cleaning fee for one or two dogs for the entire stay and “service dogs” are not exempt from this fee. If the dog is not on the reservation and we’re not advised via email prior to your arrival, there will be a $100 cleaning fee, so please, just be honest.


Dog Rules:

1. Dogs must always & forever be on a leash if they are not inside your suite.
2. Dogs are never to be allowed on the beds or furniture, but if you and your pooch like to cuddle on the sofa, we have plenty of old sheets!
3. You must keep your dog from doing its ‘business’ in the garden. When a dog marks a spot, others will often do the same and pretty soon the garden will be just a memory.
4. Please keep your cell phone with you and keep it turned on whenever you leave your dog unattended in your suite. For the sake of other guests, if your dog is barking for an extended period of time, we will call you so you can come back to the house.
5. You must pick up after your dog anywhere and everywhere in Savannah.
6. The use of “wee-wee’ pads inside any suite is not allowed.

Terms: Guests agree to indemnify and save individual owners, Keith K. Galloway, and his employees, free and harmless for any liabilities or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from, related to, or in any connection with the rental of the premises, including but not limited to, any claim or liability of personal injury or damage or loss of property which is incurred or sustained by a guest or the guests of a guest. Keith Galloway reserves the right to refuse or discontinue tenancy if, in his sole opinion, any person displays inappropriate behavior. Guests will be responsible for any damages or theft. A valid credit card must be on file for every reservation. Policies are subject to change without notice. Reservations may not be re-sold. Only registered guests are allowed to spend the night.


Cancellations of Reservations Booked on www.TheGallowayHouse.com Only

If you’re concerned that your plans may change, we strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance, it’s inexpensive and can be purchased online.

Arrival and Departure dates cannot be changed if it is less than 30 days prior to the arrival date on the original reservation.

If we receive the cancellation request in writing and the reservation has been paid in full, we will try to re-book the nights with another guest and if successful, we will issue the commensurate refund.
All requests to cancel a reservation must be made by email, and please call us to confirm that we received your email.
All cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
Thirty days (720 hours) or more prior to arrival, please email your request for a full refund, less the $50 cancellation fee.
Between 30 days (719 hours) and 14 days (337) hours please email your request and you will be responsible for 50% of the reservation total cost plus a $50 cancellation fee.
Fourteen days (336 hours) or less prior to your arrival please email your request and you will responsible for the total cost of the reservation.
If there is a mandatory evacuation for Savannah issued by the State of Georgia, we will cancel any reservations for the first day of the ordered evacuation and one day after the order is lifted.


Cancellations of Reservations Booked Through Online Travel Agents i.e. Expedia, Booking.com etc. (OTA’s) Only

You must contact the OTA directly and your reservation is subject to their terms and conditions. We wish we could, but we can’t change their terms, conditions, or policies, no matter what they say or how much we get yelled at.

Information Collection

Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at Galloway House Inn. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. Personally identifiable information is only obtained when making a reservation. All identifiable information provided will not be disclosed to anyone unless we are specifically requested to do so. Galloway House Inn does not give or sell to anyone any information we collect on our site.

We sometimes use data collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A “cookie” is a small file that gets placed on your hard drive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose to.

Security

At Galloway House Inn, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safeguard it online and offline.

Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address so that it cannot be read over the internet.

Policy Modifications

Galloway House Inn may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time in order to meet changes in the regulatory environment, business needs, or to satisfy the needs of our guests, properties, strategic marketing partners, and service providers.
